Modern Russian coins type set (1992-present)

Modern Russian coins after the fallout of the Soviet Union. While it seems easy, this can be a challenge!

Mintage of regular coinages are not released publicly whereas most commemorative coins are. Some breakdown between Moscow and St. Petersburg mints are released but not all are available.

LMD In 1995, brass plated steel coins of 50 rubles were struck. Coins of such type do not have interrupted reeded edge, instead just plain edge. It is not known why 50 rubles were the only denomination stuck in that year or other years are not distinguishable.

In 2006, both Moscow mint and St. Petersburg decided to replace the alloyed copper zinc 10 and 50 kopeks to plated steel. It is still unclear which is rarer but both seem to be common at the moment.
