Preservation: China - Uighurstan coinage (East Turkestan)

A rather scarce set of coins issued by Uighurstan back in 1933. This Islamic 'Republic' declared her independence in Western Xinjiang (or known as Sinkiang in Western China) which existed for about 5 months. Chinese warlords brutally crushed this regime with the aid of Soviet. To many Uighurs, they view Han Chinese with negative opinions due to historical events. I'll put this aside - there's plenty of reading material on the web.

Coins were issued in 1933 / 1934. One year type, with only two denomination - 10 and 20 cash. 20 cash coins are known to be overstruck over Xinjiang 10 cash coins. Rather scarce in any condition. Probably a good reason why you would even get a low grade coin and hope you can preserve it.

Before After

A rather scarce 20 cash coin overstruck over Xinjiang 10 cash. This was unfortunately cleaned in the past and verdigris has started to appear. Thankfully verdicare has removed most of the terrible verdigris.

Uighurstan 1933 10 cash

Before After

A die rotated coin. This 10 cash coin has been neglected for a period of time. As you can see, there were spots of verdigris growing like mushrooms - this is probably the worst of its kind. After taking some time on it, most of the verdigris has been removed, leaving a fair amount of pitting. Would you rather have a pitted coin or have verdigris taking over the coin after a period of time?

Before After

Another die rotated coin. This coin isn't too bad except for some of the gunk. Tried to remove most of it however the right side is to no avail. This is after four applications of Verdicare.
